A Passion for Pottery

My education and training have been in textiles, specializing in embroidery and surface design. Then I found pottery. I fell in love and haven’t looked back. Although I am new to working with clay, I found it a very natural progression from my textile work. My strong love of colour, texture, pattern and form translated in to clay beautifully. My enthusiasm and fascination with this new material was instant. I’d found what I had been looking for!!!

I am very much at the start of my journey. Please come back and visit my site again - I will continue to update it as new pieces are made and new ideas developed.

My Methods

My pottery is made using terra cotta clay and my pieces are fired in an electric kiln. I construct using both the wheel and hand building.

I paint the surface decoration using low fire underglazes; the pieces are then fired with a clear glaze to protect the design.
